Britt and her family bought a new home in Allen, Texas. Most of her windows are covered with wood blinds, but for her family room she wanted something different. Something that would make a statement and shout elegance.
We choose to start the design with Hunter Douglas Vignette Modern Roman Shades. The Earth toned, textured fabric with the soft folds create a crisp, clean look. And because she has two small children, we added the LiteRise (cordless) lift system because of Child Safety. The shades were installed on the French Doors and on the two narrow windows beside the doors. They were the perfect solution because when lifted they give a great view to the backyard letting her to easily watch the children play and they stack elegantly at the top. And when they are closed they cut the glare on the TV and offer privacy and light control.
Then we went on and added drapery panels to the sides to soften the wall of windows and to add color. We are so pleased with our Silhouette installation in North Dallas. Our customer’s Dining Room faces east so that harsh morning sun comes in without remorse. She is not someone who loves shutters because of the way they close in a space, so we suggested Silhouettes by Hunter Douglas in the 4″ vane size for the maximum amount of light to come through. As you can see, this window is on the front of the house, so privacy was a concern. One of the benefits of the Silhouette Shade is that it offers daytime privacy. Because of the way the sheers interact, they create a distortion so the view from the inside isn't obstructed, while the view from the outside is completely distorted.
Hunter Douglas makes a Silhouette arch that goes right above the Silhouette shade. The arch can be made in either the open or closed position and is non operable. The best way to get it, we believe, is in the open position so it looks beautiful and filters the light inwards. Next we will be adding drapery panels to the sides of the window to finish the look.

This customer in the Del Webb community in Frisco, Texas bought a new home. She loved the location and home but not so much the kitchen. So after she closed on the home, we went in and added trim and moldings. The cabinets were painted and a new tile back splash and new hardware were installed. It does not look like the same kitchen, but it is! For window treatments we used hunter Douglas Duette Architella shades in Batiste textured fabric which works beautifully with the look she wants. She can open the shades with the touch of her hand using the LiteRise operating system or can keep them closed and still get wonderful filtered light.

Amy lives in Frisco, Texas and called us to help her with her sliding doors in her living room. The sliding doors look out onto their pool area so the treatment needed to give them privacy and also the opportunity to open up to the patio. Hunter Douglas Luminette was the perfect solution. We treated each door with a Luminette shade and for convenience to open the shade we used the PowerGlide motorized operating system. They look beautiful and were the perfect solution. But we still needed some color. We added a custom valance to the top and the whole treatment turned about beautiful. See the result below! Luminettes are a beautiful, sophisticated window treatment that is perfect for a traditional room but can also be used in a contemporary setting. You can easily add drapery panels or a valance for color. And they are perfect for any room!
One of our favorite projects is designing custom throw pillows. Finding just the right fabric for an accent piece is fun and is also sometimes challenging. Challenging is always more fun! This pillow made from a Kravet fabric was the perfect solution to bring all the elements of design in the room together. The blues, yellows and cream colors really make a statement with this traditional rustic home.
We just finished a fun job in Grapevine, Texas. We installed custom drapery panels in nearly every room of this beautiful California Contemporary home including in the master bathroom. These sheer draperies perfectly frame the window and really make this tub feel like an oasis. For privacy we used the Silhouette Shading by Hunter Douglas in the Alustra Brio fabric. For convenince, we used the new PowerView Motorized Operating System. The drapery panels are made of a soft gouzy fabric and they frame the window beautifully. We love the simple iron rod made by the Antique Rod Company.
